Instructor work panel

The middle panel is where the real work happens. It changes based on what you select in the left panel.

What appears in the middle panel

If nothing is selected, the middle panel shows either an onboarding command center or a prompt to choose a course or student.

If you select a course, you get the course workspace. If you select a student, you get that student's detail view. If you select an assignment, you get the assignment editor.

No selection: quick-start dashboard or a reminder to choose a course or student.
Course selected: course header, filters, assignment table, bulk edit, and course settings.
Student selected: student profile header plus course tabs for that student.
Assignment selected: assignment details plus content editing tools.

Course workspace

The course workspace is the main instructor hub. It is built for organizing assignments and student activity inside one course.

Review the course header for grade type, status, visibility, and start date.
Create a course chat if the class does not have one yet.
Open course settings from the settings control in the header.
Use sections to organize assignments in a clear order.
Filter assignments by section, completion status, or category.
Create and manage categories for cleaner grading organization.
Create a new assignment inside the selected section.
Switch into bulk edit when you want to update a whole section more efficiently.
Click student avatars in the course header to move directly into an individual student's view.

Student detail view

When you open a student from the left panel or from a course header, the center panel becomes a student-focused workspace.

The student header shows the learner's name and contact information, and the area below lets you move through the courses that student is enrolled in.

Choose one of the student's courses from the course selector.
Review course sections one at a time.
See section completion markers when every assignment in that section has been graded for the student.
Review the assignment table for that student within the selected course and section.

Assignment editor

The assignment view is built for editing both the assignment header and the learning materials inside it.

Edit the assignment title and description.
Review points, due date, and category at a glance.
Add learning content blocks such as text, files, PDFs, videos, quizzes, and links.
Reorder content blocks by dragging them into the right order.
Edit or delete existing content blocks.
Use quizzes for short-answer, essay, or multiple-choice questions.
