Instructor View
Getting started as an instructor
Use this path when you are setting up Graidle for the first time or building out a new course.
Best first session
When your workspace is empty, the center panel acts like a command center. It gives you direct links to the documentation, the FAQ, and a button to create your first course.
After you create a course, the app moves into the regular three-panel workspace. From there, most setup work starts in the left panel and is completed in the center panel.
- Create your first course from the dashboard or from the Courses tab in the left panel.
- Give the course a clear title if it starts as an untitled card.
- Add students to the course from the course card or from the course header.
- Open the course in the middle panel and create sections before adding assignments.
- Build assignments inside the right section so your course stays organized.
- Create a course chat if you want a shared conversation space tied to that class.
What instructors can organize right away
A course can hold its own sections, categories, assignments, students, settings, chat, calendar items, and tasks.
The course header also shows details such as grade style, course status, privacy, and start date, which helps you confirm that the course is configured the way you expect.
- Sections break a course into chunks so assignments stay ordered.
- Categories help group assignments for grading and reporting.
- Assignments can include text, files, PDFs, videos, links, and quizzes.
- Students can be added before or after assignments are created.
- Pinned items help keep important courses or students near the top of the left panel.
A simple weekly routine
Many instructors will spend the week moving between the course list, the course workspace, and the right-side planning tools.
- Use the left panel to pick the course or student you want to work on.
- Use the middle panel to create assignments, review progress, and update course settings.
- Use the communications panel to message people, watch upcoming due dates, and keep a running task list.
